Kirkor Dabanyan

Kirkor Dabanyan is an interdisciplinary artist based in Istanbul. Dabanyan's work revolves around art forms such as painting and installation. His pieces revolve around the concepts of the dynamism of crowds, the memory of a space, and the "hidden violence" concealed within everyday life. While constructing a fictional world in his paintings and installations, the artist displays a semi-expressionist approach influenced by the aesthetics and narrative language of comic books.

He graduated from the Painting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Marmara University. He studied at Ecole Emile Cohl in Lyon and Ecole National des Arts Décoratifs (Art Espace) in Paris. He has also led workshops at international studios such as Zarmanazan.
